I guess you are talking about this document? - http://portal.sivarajan.com/2011/07/user-account-migration-and-merg...

I donít have a step-step instructions but you will see a lot of information here - http://portal.sivarajan.com/search?q=migration&x=0&y=0

Please let me known if you have any specific questions about the migration.

Also, do you have the Quest Migration Manager user guide from Quest site?

Thanks Santosh , In our case we are creating new users in target , migrating from source . I got your procedure to migrating users , groups , wksts etc . So we migrate users no merge and migrate their mail moxes .

When we did that every thing works fine in terms of mail for users in target but the mail is not getting migrating from source ? The sync is set for automatic runs every 10 min , its not switching the mail box ? The tes tusers had only 5 mails in inbox . Are we missing some steps?

>>>mail is not getting migrating from source
Did you create the internal mail routing for QMM with a Source and Target address?
Did you verify the TargetAddress attribute?

>>>its not switching the mail box
Please post the relevent content from Mail Source Agent and Mail Target Agent log file here.

We got the mail working , we migrated user object first using QMM AD , the only difference was we unchecked the mail option , after that we migrated mail box using QMM EX , we got all mail migrated user attribute is fine .

1. Is there a logic behind mail mob switch , we added the PST option =0 per the document - we will try it now . I guess it was going on without switching ?
2. Is there an option in QMM AD to change display name attribute at target , source AD has firstname.lastname target has first name space lastname ? Ot do we just have to merge per your doc?

>>>1. Is there a logic behind mail mob switch
Not sure what exactly you are look for. Mailbox Switch is based on the mail data threshold you configured.

>>>we added the PST option =0 per the document
Which option are you referring here?

>>I guess it was going on without switching ?
Did you see a green check box next to the mailbox?

>>. Is there an option in QMM AD to change display name attribute at target
You can do this using the migration. You may want to perform Migration first then Directory Sycn based on my doc.

1. In the sync job for member tab - the Job has question , but I have all mail for the user , since we are testing is there an option to manually switch just after migrating all Inbox , I guess the job is waiting for calender and PST all that stuff.

2. "LastPSTAppliedSwitch=0" under the [Mail Source Agent] section of the config.ini file that is located in the \Mail Source Agent\ folder on the source Exchange server. This to expedite the migration without PST.

3. I see the question on the sync job.

4. Can you send me the link for the doc?

Thanks Santhosh

>>>the Job has question
You need to review the MSA and MTA and Target Agent log to understand this issue.

I was referring to this document - http://portal.sivarajan.com/2011/07/user-account-migration-and-merg...

Got it the doc , we got the user migration and mail box migration working and the inbox and calender are syncing .

The last step is to test the RUM for quest , do you have a process , procedure for that .

The doc says migrate , group, user, work station using AD migration manager , run resources update manager to switch the re ACL and move the wkst to target domain ?

Not much details about RUM though?

For what? QMM for Exchange can bring mail enabled objects. You can eabled 2-way sync if needed.

Two way Sync is enabled , just wondering if we have to consolidate the GAL . For any source mail objects will not show up in address book after migration since their accounts will be disabled ?
